The Residence At The Black Star

The Residence At The Black Star ***+ is ideally situated in the historical centre of Prague, only 250 metres / 4 minutes on foot from both the Charles Bridge and the Old Town Square. It is a late Renaissance building from the beginning of the 17th century.

The residence offers comfortable accommodation in 7 suites, 5 Superior for 4-5 people and 2 for 2-3 people. Each suite consists of at least two rooms (usually a bedroom, living room with Sat TV and safety deposit box) and bathroom with hairdryer. All of them have fully equipped kitchenettes (fridge, electric cooker, dishwasher, toaster and fast-boiling kettle). All suites are covered by Wi-Fi internet connection.

The reception is open daily to our guests from 7:00 to 23:00 and provide full service (i.e. taxi service, flight confirmations, room service, city tours, option to use internet and fax at the reception desk, tickets for cultural events and many others, option to borrow iron, ironing board, umbrella etc.)
Downstairs in the Residence is situated a Wine bar called "Alla Stella Nera". The Wine bar evokes the building's rich history, which was once a centre of wine culture. The guests can enjoy the unique atmosphere of the wine bar, excellent gastronomy and cultural events. It offers a wide selection of Italian and French wines, selected wines from the New World, quality Czech wines, Italian and French cheeses and many other culinary offerings.
The Wine bar At the Black Star organises various cultural events such as wine tasting accompanied by music, photo exhibitions, concerts with music both ancient and modern and jazz improvisations.

Suite no.102 & 103

One bedroom (double bed), small living room (another pullout couch 150 cm wide outstretched), fully equipped kitchen (including glass-ceramic hob, oven, dishwasher), TV SAT, bathroom with bathtub and bidet, total area 40m2, windows are facing the courtyard, both for 2-3 persons.

Two-storied suite, one bedroom + large living room (double bed + two singles side by side), hallway with stairs, TV SAT, bathroom with bathtub and bidet, fridge, coffee/tea making facilities, total area 60m2, windows are facing the street, for 4-5 persons.

Superior suite no.202

One large living room (one single bed and pullout couch 150 cm wide outstretched) with fully equipped kitchenette (including glass-ceramic hob, oven, dishwasher), one bedroom (double bed), hallway, TV SAT, bathroom with shower and bidet, total area 65m2, windows are facing the street and the courtyard, for 4 persons.

Superior suite no.203 with terrace

Two-storied suite, one large bedroom/living room (pullout couch 150 cm wide outstretched) with fully equipped kitchenette (including glass-ceramic hob, oven, dishwasher), one bedroom (double bed), TV SAT, bathroom with shower and bidet, second toilet, total area 40m2, private terrace 20m2, windows are facing the terrace, for 3 persons.

Superior suite no.301

One bedroom + large living room (double bed + two singles side by side), fully equipped kitchen (including glass-ceramic hob, oven, dishwasher), hallway, TV SAT, bathroom with bathtub and bidet, total area 75m2, windows are facing the street, for 4-5 persons.

The building of the Residence is proclaimed within the Prague cultural preservation which, from 1993, is listed on the UNESCO world heritage list. The first reference of the building dates back to the period around 1400. Originally gothic, the building was divided into two parts in 1538. The left part underwent a broad renaissance reconstruction. In 1622 the parts were again integrated, at this time in the late renaissance style. The interiors then passed through some minor changes in the classicism style. The basement and cellars of the Residence are almost completely covered by different types of wagon vaults in the ceiling. Lastly, the attic suite/floor has been built beneath a beautiful gable feature of the Residence.
